how it started ... STORYTIME
(TLDR: chronically online girl names zine after herself but people like it so she sells it and hopes u love it)
'Rotgirl' started as a uni project, (The 'draft' issue featuring Eve on our toilet in sunglasses) I knew I wanted a mix of content including fashion, advertising, artwork and photography, so I asked some of my fav small creators if I could feature their work. It ended up being full of talented indie artists who all had 1 thing in common: Creating AWESOME stuff from their bedrooms.
The name rotgirl comes from my username (yea i named it after my internet alter ego.) I thought it resonated with small artists like myself who create everything from inside their rooms.
Several imposter syndrome episodes later I've mustered up the balls to create a whole new issue even tho it makes me scream cry& throw up. I've met many lovely strangers through this and learned that marketing is embarrassing
